Don't miss this inaugural event!

Sponsor Nusenda Credit Union has an established presence in New Mexico and is expanding to El Paso, with four locations to date. Thank you for sponsoring El Paso's first divisional pickleball tournament!
The Hybrid competition pairs a standing player with a wheelchair partner. Member Terry Avalos has been organizing this event in an effort to particularly reach out to the Wounded Warrior community.
The next time you play at a Chicken N Pickle, look for the adaptive wheelchairs that they provide for their patrons.
Skyline Opening
According to Pablo Caballero, Director of Parks and Recreation, arrangements are being made for the opening ceremony. These are El Paso's first dedicated pickleball courts within the City Park system. We will let you know as soon as we hear. These six dedicated courts are located in northeast El Paso, near Woodrow Bean and Rushing, at 5050 Yvette.
Grandview Bleachers
The City installed bleachers along one wall of the indoor gym. Pickleball players expressed their concern that they were too close to the baseline, so those bleachers have been moved outdoors. A new, smaller set of bleachers has been ordered.

Looking for something fun to do? Be sure to keep checking our Home Page. We had a lively Pot Luck Social at Galatzan in February and two leagues are under way. Don't miss out! Registration is underway for El Paso's inaugural Nusenda Sun Bowl divisional tournament, followed by another of Omar's Tag Team competitions for Easter at Galatzan - fun! Our friends in Las Cruces are offering two divisional tournaments - all flyers are on the home page.
Have You Heard About the "Pickleball Courts" In Sunland Park?

Me neither, but I was asked the question so I checked it out. The Padel Club (not pickleball) on Futurity, near the old Five Set Net has three padel ball courts, complete with walls and artificial turf - not quite the same. The game is scored like tennis and uses ball similar to tennis, but the paddle is three inches thick with holes in it. The court surface is like very short artificial grass and the big difference - the courts have walls that the ball can be played off of.

We are so fortunate to have free facilities to play on; this Padel Club charges $80 - $100 for a 1 1/2 hour time slot; they do not use open rotation.
Play (pickleball) happy,
