UTEP Pickleball Club
Dr. Eric Freudenthal started a morning Pickleball Club with some of his students at UTEP! They meet twice a week and play between the trees behind the engineering building.
They are in the process of establishing an official UTEP Pickleball Club that will play on 4 indoor Pickleball courts in the Student Recreation Center. The kickoff will be Thursday, October 10th from 6:00-8:30 pm at the recreation center. Let your UTEP student friends know! Follow UTEP Rec Sports on Instagram - it will be posted soon!
PEPA Annual Meeting and Election
PEPA's first annual meeting was held at Grandview on September 4. We would like to welcome our new director Marc Aguirre, and returning directors Jim Rolph and Kelly Groves. All work done by the Association is accomplished by people who generously volunteer their time, and we are grateful.
City Council To Vote on Funds for Northeast Pickleball Facility
On Tuesday, September 24, there will be a motion to allocate money from Representative Molinar's discretionary fund toward a northeast pickleball facility (at this time unknown which one). Our presence shows support, and they notice when we show up - the blue shirts make it obvious. Please come if you can: Tuesday, September 24, 9:00, 300 N. Campbell, and wear a PEPA or light blue shirt.
They usually move our agenda item to the front of the list when they see us in the audience. That's nice.
